Mentally Ill Youth Rescued After Suicide Attempt in Udupi

Udupi: An incident took place on Wednesday in the Manipal police station limits where a mentally ill youth broke his leg after attempting suicide. Social worker Vishu Shetty, who received information, rescued him with the cooperation of the public and took him in his vehicle to the district hospital. The youth is mentally ill and is suffering from severe physical and mental illness, so no personal information is being given. It has been learned that the youth hails from Assam. He was rescued by the public when he tried to commit suicide by jumping into a well. Later, it has been revealed that he tried to commit suicide by hanging himself. After all this failed, he climbed a tree and jumped from there and attempted suicide. In this incident, his right leg was fractured. Vishu Shetty said that Manipal police station has been informed about the case. Vishu Shetty has requested that if there are any heirs of the youth, they should contact the district hospital.
